THIS JUST IN: NECKLACES

Just got some new necklaces in at the shop—this time, for the ladies. We've still got your usual favourites, but we've just added a pair of mini keys, the grooviest sparkling sphere you've ever seen, as well as a single, larger version of the mini key pendant.
Stop by the shop and have a look!

LOOK OF THE DAY

We are crazy about this tie-bar, and had to showcase it as the finishing detail of this outfit that we are equally crazy about. If you've read our blog before, you know that we are great enthusiasts of mixing patterns and colours, and what better way to do that, than with a classic suit, bold; coloured print like this paisley tie, against the subtle stripe on the shirt.

MONOCHROMATIC

The all-black outfit has been a staple among almost everyone's wardrobe at some time or another. We've even featured it on the blog because let's face it, the all-black ensemble is an easy-to-wear classic.

However, we think that monochromatic outfits that aren't black can also look great—just keep a few things in mind before you throw on that all-neon-yellow ensemble you've got hanging out in your closet. (We won't even ask you why you've got one. We don't really want to know.)
Play with mixing patterns and textures. We've said this about wearing all-black outfits as well, but we think that this applies to any sort of monochromatic outfit. It keeps your outfit from looking flat and boring. It also keeps you from looking like Justin Timberlake, circa 2001.
Play with different shades of a colour you want to wear, especially if you've chosen a bold colour. Sometimes wearing the same shade of a bright colour can be overwhelming to look at, and might make you look more clown-ish than dapper.
No matter what you do, wear your clothes with confidence and you're sure to look great!

Happy Friday, folks!

"STYLE GIRLFRIEND"

This week, we bring you Style Girlfriend, a blog we recently came across with an interesting concept. The blog offers some sartorial advice to men from a woman's perspective.

Style Girlfriend's creator, Megan Collins' love for men's fashion began when she received a hand-me-down Milwaukee Bucks Starter jacket from her older brother. "I was seven and couldn't name a single player on the team, but I adored that coat and wore it every day, stopping only when I found myself pairing it with shorts and sandals in June," she said.

Since then, Collins has evolved from wearing men's clothes to helping sartorially-challenged guys everywhere "pick the clothes out on their own.

We like her style of styling, because she doesn't just choose clothes women would pick out for their boyfriends or husbands. She does, however, choose stylish, well-made, classic pieces that will serve your wardrobe well for a long time, while also impressing your lady. "I know what I like on guys, and I’m happy to tell them in a positive, constructive way," she said. "A lot of ladies out there, including well-meaning girlfriends and wives, can’t bring themselves to do the same. That’s where I come in."
See for yourself HERE, and tell us what you think!

LOOK OF THE DAY

Today's look is keeping with the basics: great suit, shirt, and tie. However, we've changed it up a bit by adding some colour and texture with an orange, knit tie, as well as the fine polka dot on the shirt for some extra detail.

It's easy to keep an outfit simple while also add some interest, by just choosing some subtle patters and one bold colour.

UNCLE OTIS X LEVI'S MADE & CRAFTED

Last night, we stepped out to support our friends at Uncle Otis, who launched their Levi's Made & Crafted pop-up shop. As big fans of good drinks and great fashion, of course we had to make an appearance!
